Huawei Cloud: Accelerating Intelligence in Europe as a Better Multi-Cloud Engine

Oct 30, 2025

[October 29, 2025, Madrid, Spain] HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 Madrid kicked off today, featuring the Huawei Cloud Summit Europe. Hundreds of customers and partners convened to dive into digital transformation and the blueprint for an intelligent Europe.

The progress towards a deeper level of digital transformation in enterprises necessitates moving beyond a single-cloud model. European businesses are increasingly adopting a multi-cloud strategy to enhance resilience, drive innovation, and maintain business continuity. At the heart of this shift, Huawei Cloud emerges as the indispensable engine driving this transformative journey.

In his keynote, Li Shi, President of Huawei Cloud Computing Global Sales, reaffirmed Huawei Cloud's commitment to supporting European enterprises to go multi-cloud with a three-E approach: Established, Evolution, and Excellent. He highlighted that Huawei Cloud provides over 240 cloud services and all-scenario solutions—including infrastructure, AI compute, and industry models—to more than 1,800 customers. Also, Huawei Cloud leverages its extensive expertise and excellent services to empower businesses in seamlessly addressing the last-mile challenges of their digital transformation.

Stronger Infrastructure: The New AZ in the Ireland Region

Demonstrating continued investment in Europe, Ethan Chen announced the official launch of the third Availability Zone (AZ) for the Huawei Cloud Ireland Region in early 2026. This expansion marks a significant upgrade to Huawei Cloud's European infrastructure, bringing three key advantages:

·  Enhanced reliability and resilience: The new 3-AZ architecture will improve the reliability of storage and database services by 10 times, ensuring zero interruption for key customer services.

·  Doubled compute and capacity: Data center capacity will expand by five times, providing on-demand compute at scale to handle skyrocketing service demands.

·  Deployment of Versatile: The new AZ will host Huawei Cloud's enterprise-grade AI agent platform Versatile, allowing enterprises to easily develop AI agents and boost service efficiency.

·  Agile cloud native: With a recognized position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management, Huawei Cloud is launching two new serverless container services in Europe: CCE Autopilot and CCI, showcasing industry-leading speed, flexibility, and intelligence in scalability.

·  Intelligent data governance: The new knowledge-centric data governance platform DataArts serves as a full-link governance solution, complemented by GaussDB, TaurusDB, and GeminiDB to meet all-scenario data needs in multi-cloud environments.

·  Innovative AI platforms: Huawei Cloud offers the one-stop AI development platform ModelArts and the AI agent platform Versatile. They support popular open-source AI models, provision compute in minutes, and enable the creation of agents in hours.

Pioneering European Enterprise Transformation in Practice

The summit showcased compelling real-world examples, moving from technical ideas to successful implementations:

Obuda University, Hungary's top polytechnic, leveraged Huawei Cloud's AI Compute Service to launch three transformative applications—a campus service chatbot, a smart teaching AI application, and a robust research model platform—catering to over 14,000 students in mere weeks, setting a new standard for smart university in Hungary.

Eniro Group, the largest search engine in Europe, migrated their business to Huawei Cloud, modernizing applications while reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by 40%.

Barceló, Spain's second-largest hotel group with over 250 hotels in 22 countries, is migrating their core service systems to Huawei Cloud, including corporate services and Big Data Environment systems, to boost data analytics, operational efficiency, and customer experience with cloud computing, big data, and AI technologies.

Tech for Good: Innovation for Sustainable Development

Aka Dai, Director of Huawei Cloud Marketing, delivered a keynote on "Cloud for Good", detailing how Huawei Cloud is harnessing technologies like cloud and AI to promote intelligence across environment, healthcare, development, and education.
